II Film Series – The Social Network

Discussion of the Facebook at Film Series of the Museum of Computer Science: Cinema Forum on ‘The Social Network’, Wednesday 26 November at 16:30h.

Do you usually use the Facebook? Do you know something about its origin? How did the idea come about? Was it Mark Zuckerberg’s idea? Who were helping him? And, Who were trying to stop it? All the answers are in ‘The Social Network’.
The Museum of Computer Science of the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSINF) od UPV has organised a new initiative in order to find out more, in a fun way, about its main subject. Next 26 November the film ‘The Social Network’ (2010) will be screened at “II Ciclo de Cine –Museo de Informática” were the main feature will be Mark Zuckerberg, one important figure who has revolutionised the world of computers.
This film reflects how people and their ideas can change the world, and how surrounding Facebook there is an entire universe of people and complicated relationships. To analyse ‘The Social Network’ is indispensable if you want to understand the world we are living in, but also if you want to understand the future of this same world.
From the start ‘Un Museo de cine’ scheduled films reflecting part of IT recent history. The films will be screened at the Conference Hall of Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (Building 1E) at 16.30h. Each session consists of a presentation of the film and its relationship with IT, then the film will be screened and a cinema forum at the end.
