List of Collaborators of Retrópolis 2025
School of Computer Engineering
The School of Computer Engineering at UPV, resulting from the integration of the School of Applied Computer Science and the Faculty of Computer Science into a single center, was created by Decree 33/2009 of the Council, dated February 27, 2009. The new center inherits the long teaching and research tradition of the former School and Faculty, which dates back to 1982 when the University School of Computer Science was created, a pioneering center for Computer Science studies in the Valencian Community; studies which were completed in 1985 with the creation of the Faculty of Computer Science.
The UPV’s School of Computer Engineering will offer degrees in Computer Engineering, Technical Engineer in Management Informatics, Technical Engineer in Systems Informatics, and a degree in Documentation, which were previously offered by the School and Faculty.
This is an administrative reorganization process aimed at ensuring unified action in Computer Science studies, guaranteeing the quality of academic activities in this field, and enhancing its international visibility as a result of adapting current degrees to the European Higher Education Area.
Cultural Activities Area
The Cultural Activities Area is responsible for managing, organizing, carrying out, and publicizing cultural events of all kinds (exhibitions, concerts, theater activities, poetry readings, festivals, cultural classrooms, etc.). All of this aims to promote and support cultural initiatives that arise from our university community, both inside and outside the UPV.
Computer Science Student Delegation
We are the student representation of Computer Engineering at UPV. Our role consists of informing students about regulations and their changes, supporting the processing of complaints and conflict resolution, and acting as a guide for expressing students’ requests and proposals. We also organize cultural and recreational activities for students.

XLaTangente
Since 2013, we have maintained the same philosophy: “publish what we are passionate about so others can discover it.”
X La Tangente is a cultural fanzine created in August 2013 within the “La Taronja Friki Cultural Association.” In its early years, it was published electronically with a monthly frequency. In 2015, it evolved into a webzine, moving its activities to the web. However, a decade later, “La Taronja Friki” decided to bring back the electronic format, allowing the possibility of obtaining printed copies again through subscriptions or at selected events.
Starting in 2025, “X La Tangente” will expand its content with special sections dedicated to each event attended by “La Taronja Friki,” offering more detailed and closer coverage. We will also enhance our content with exclusive interviews and specialized programs.
– “El Tragapalomitas”: A weekly live program about particularly bad movies (B and Z films) and commercials, both classic and modern. We will always maintain an impartial viewpoint since we don’t sell out to any distributor, and our opinions will be completely honest in each program. We’ll also cover movie and TV news, comment on the most important awards, and cover the festivals we attend live.
– “El Tragajuegos”: A unique weekly program about video games, where we will play live and discuss the most relevant news. We’ll cover both retro and current games, but we should warn you that we’re going to play badly, and that’s the fun part! We’ll also have special programs and pre-recorded game series, as well as occasional ventures into board and role-playing games.
– “El Tragapartituras”: A pre-recorded music program where we will analyze albums completely impartially, with a special focus on metal. We’ll also do live broadcasts from concerts and festivals to share the experience in real-time, bringing the live experience to your ears.
– “El Murciélago Ninja”: A monthly podcast about culture. Here you’ll find exclusive news and extra content. All of this will complement and update the content of “X La Tangente,” surprising all our followers.
With this evolution, “X La Tangente” is not only adapting to modern times but also reinventing itself to continue being a cultural reference. More content, more formats, and more passion… you can’t miss it! Culture never stops, and you can’t pause it… so insert a coin, hit start, and join the “X La Tangente” family!
